Sizzling Siam is a small, relaxed Thai restaurant on Main Avenue in historic downtown Durango, just a short walk from the Durango & Silverton train depot. It’s an easy, unfussy spot for a quick lunch or a laid-back dinner when you fancy something full of flavour after a day out in the mountains.

The menu keeps to the Thai classics: pad thai, pad see ew, fragrant green curry, and tom kha gai, the coconut, ginger and lemongrass soup. The egg rolls are made by hand every day and are a favourite with regulars. Spice levels are proper Thai, so if you prefer things gentle, just say so when you order.

Portions are generous and the service is quick. It works just as well as a takeaway to enjoy back at your rental once you’ve settled in for the evening.

Sizzling Siam is open for lunch and dinner Monday to Saturday and closed on Sundays. Pop in at lunchtime after a morning wandering the shops on Main, or stop by for an early supper once the train pulls back into town.
