College Café

College Café, long known to locals as College Drive Cafe, is one of Durango’s favourite breakfast spots. It’s been part of the town’s mornings since the 1990s and has been run by husband-and-wife team Aaron Seitz and Leah Evers since 2011. In 2025 it moved into a light, bright, renovated historic brick building on East 9th Street, just steps from historic downtown.

The kitchen makes hearty breakfast and lunch from scratch. Regulars come for the southwestern-style breakfast burritos, homemade biscuits and sausage gravy, the signature home fries and creative takes on eggs Benedict, and there are famous gluten-free pancakes too. Chorizo comes from local Sunnyside Meats, and the coffee is organic and roasted right here in Durango by Desert Sun Coffee Roasters.

It’s relaxed and friendly, the sort of place where, as they say, everyone is treated like a regular. There’s room for families and groups, so it’s a good fit if you’re travelling together.

The café serves breakfast and lunch every day and closes in the early afternoon, so come in the morning. Weekends get busy, so arrive early if you want a table before heading out to experience Durango your way.
